When the customer gets the KB2977320 update the SQL services will not start with error 1053
We have been able to fix some of these. By disabling webroot and uninstall SQL and removing most registers for SQL and the instance name. Also reset the performance counters
make sure permissions to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSDTC are full for the current user.
Then reinstall the SQL 2008 r2 Express. that seems to work but takes a lot of time!
Anything else that might work and take a lot less time?
