We are using SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition and I was wondering what it would take to addMaintenance Plan module/package that has the SQL Server Agentthat allows to have a scheduler to do backups.

Weird behavior: BCP, copy and Bulkinsert
Hi all,
I have a very weird problem.
I bcp data into 3 files, I merge the 3 files using copy /b and Bulk insert.
using the same data, this works under windows 7 but not under XP.
The error I get is: bulk load data conversion error (type mismatch or invalid character for the specified code page ...
Although I tried to use CODEPAGE RAW & ACP, I don't use any as it didn't make a difference.
I should mention that for testing purposes, I'm doing all 3 operations onto one same PC (XP for one and Windows 7 for the other)
Can some please enlighten me?
I definitely think that it's the Operating System?!?! but why?
I'm trying to understand...

Error 9002 Tlog
MSSQL2008 R2 Express
I get this error
Error: 9002, Severity: 17, State: 4.
The transaction log for database 'abc' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases
The databases are in Simple recovery model. It is also on the same disk; sharing the limited space with OS and data files.
From this thread , I gather, there's probably nothing I can do given the server it's on. However, I am curious as to what happens when we get that error - are records not getting inserted / updated / deleted?

Will SQL Server Express work on EWF protected volume?
Windows 7 Embedded installed on a CFast card in an industrial PC.
SQL Server Express 2014 installed on the same CFast card. The card is the C drive for the PC.
If the Enhanced Write Filter function in Embedded is turned on to block writes to the C drive so as to preserve the OS during loss of power events, will SQL Server Express function properly when installed on that protected drive? Obviously, the actual databases would be on another volume.
I suspect that it would run since writes to the protected volume are buffered in RAM, but, are there long term updates that SQL Server Expressneeds to save for later startups? I guess what I'm trying to get at is whether or not connections to updated databases on other partitions would be affected by no persisted updates on the system volume.

Error creating table in Visual Studio 2015 - SQL Server LocalDB
Hi,
I am currently trying to create a project in C++ in Visual Studio 2015 community. I have created a localDB instance of SQL server, which I am connected too. However, when I go to create a table, I get the following error message:
"Problem Loading. The designed encountered an error while loading the table definition".
I have tried searching various forums to see if anyone else has has this problem, but the general solutions have just been to restart Visual Studio, which doesn't work for me.
Could anyone help with this?

reinstalling SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU
Guys,
Am using a W8.1 x64, installed SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU but it doesn't work, the managementconsole doesnt start.. Tried repairing through the control panel, no luc, still doesnt work. same as uninstalling, i dont know where to start(the package consists of many installed programs) so i tried deinstalling microsoft sql 2014(64 bit) but that doesnt work. Am getting several invalid character notifications
Tried reinstalling, still doesnt work.

SQL LocalDB does not start automatically anymore in Windows 10
Hi, just upgraded from win7 to win10. I have an application developed with vs2013 community and MS SQL2012 which uses localdb v11.0 and has worked perfectly, however since the win10 upgrade, the instance will not start
automatically. I can start it manually using the SQLLocalDB command line utility, and everything works when in the VS IDE or running the application until the instance 'times out' and is therefore not a practical solution. I have searched
and tried the 'fixes' identified in previous posts relating to win 8 etc. but still no luck. Has anyone got a suggestion how I can get this working again, I don't my users are going to be happy if they upgrade!!

Extraction failed SQL Server 2014
Hi! I am trying to install sql server 2014 express.
Error has occurred while trying to extract the files from the download place.
My system specs: RAM 1 GB, CORE 2 DUO Processor, Windows 7 Ultimate.
Similar question raised by another user few months back but no solution for it.

the reporting services service is running; the reporting services configuration is complete.
tutorials seem to indicate that I should start at a Business Intelligence Development Studio or Data Tools, but neither of these components seem to be available .
what am I missing?

I am trying to follow this walkthrough<br><br>http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms233763(VS.80).aspx<br>And getting nowhere as it says I need to set up database diagrams which I cannot due to not being in db_owner role, or not being valid db user etc etc.I cannot find out how to set this up for the database I created so far in t his tutorial.I have searched and searched and got nowhere.I then went into SSMSE by chance and found a load of roles but none named db_owner. I then tried to add my database file but SSMSE wont let me drill down into the required folderI weep!!!!Please can anyone help?

Setup a development workstation Microsoft SQL Server 2014 express using Web services for OData interface.
All,
Can I setup an internal network machine to run Microsoft SQL Server 2014 express with Web Server? I would like to (kind of) simulate an internet environment. I have gotten my application accessing the data through SQLite and using MySQL from and offsite server. I am pleased with the performance.
I am moving the application to be a Windows 10 Universal Application on Windows 10 machine to take advantage of UX and other features. I want to try to stay with the defacto standard that Microsoft uses for solutions (if logical).
I have the machines and access to the software packages, but getting the connections between the points has been difficult.
I am coming from a Unix/Linux background I am getting lost with the terms.

Now one of our suppliers move to SFTP and have to send same csv to SFTP server which I could not find a relevant material in internet of how to send file to SFTP with the stored procedure.
