I am experiencing the following:

After installing SQL Server 2014 Express with Advanced Services x64 on two machines (Windows 7 x64, Windows 8.1 x64), on Windows 7 there is no "Schemas" folder in the Object Explorer. Possibly others are also missing. On Windows 8.1, every folder is visible.

I am connected as database owner.

Any hint on getting every folder shown?

The System cannot install:

I am illiterate in reference to computer programs. My SQL server is apparently corrupt. I have windows 8.1. I have reinstalled windows from my computer. Still the same problem. Please forgive me if this is a simple problem I'm merely over looking, I'm new to SQL, as in, I installed SQL Server 2008 Express lastnight, and the server is running but I am unable to get Server Broswer, or Server Agent to start, when either is tried I get the following error:

WMI Provider error.
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. [0x80070422]

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Daniel

After upgrading a computer to Windows 10 I am unable to connect using the computer name but I am able to connect with the IP Address.

I was running SQL Express 2008 R2 and completely uninstalled and installed SQL Express 2014 and still have the same issue. I also found that if I include the port number with the Computer Name I am able to connect. I have this same issue on multiple computers.

Error creating table in Visual Studio 2015 - SQL Server LocalDB

Hi,

I am currently trying to create a project in C++ in Visual Studio 2015 community.  I have created a localDB instance of SQL server, which I am connected too.  However, when I go to create a table, I get the following error message:

"Problem Loading.  The designed encountered an error while loading the table definition".

I have tried searching various forums to see if anyone else has has this problem, but the general solutions have just been to restart Visual Studio, which doesn't work for me.

Could anyone help with this?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi,

When installing SQLEXPR_x86_ENU.exe the installation just dies out after showing a command prompt box. The SQLSetup.log found in %tmp% shows:

After many many hours of various troubleshootings, I came up with this and I'm stumped.

Framework 4 no longer uses caspol.exe per running the command line;

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727>caspol.exe -all -reset
Microsoft (R) .NET Framework CasPol 2.0.50727.5420
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

ERROR: Runtime error: This method explicitly uses CAS policy, which has been obs
oleted by the .NET Framework. In order to enable CAS policy for compatibility re
asons, please use the NetFx40_LegacySecurityPolicy configuration switch. Please
see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=155570 for more information.

Now I extracted the executable and the configuration file used for the setup seems to indicate that it is using the legacy flags indicated in the CAS link.

I ran the exact same command line on the 32 bit folder

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727>caspol.exe -all -reset

And it successfully created security.config and security.config.cch in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\config

In desperation, I copied those files into the 64 bit folder; C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\config

And ran the installation, successfully installing SQL 2012.

Here's the rub, WHY can the security.config files not be created? It seems to indicate it tries to create them but fails, I am logged in as an administrator on the machine and I did run the setup using elevated rights (right click run as administrator)

I'm flumoxed, anyone else run into similar issues? Have any clues or ideas?

Thanks.

Connie

Can i use an sql server database with node.js running in windows ?
I can't find any about it.

SQL Server installation failed with Exit code (Decimal): -2067922414

I can not figure this out and there is no documentation on ExitCodes.  I am running the install as part of a bootstrapper I built.  I have SQL Server Express 2012 installed and am expecting the bootstrapper to UPGRADE the system.

Here is the command that is being executed:

SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU.EXE /q /action=Upgrade /instancename=SQLEXPRESS /UpdateEnabled=False /IAcceptSqlServerLicenseTerms /skiprules=RebootRequiredCheck

We need SQL to work with Actix Analyzer software. We have got new version of Actix and it needs SQL Server 2008 R2 , so we need to uninstall SQL Server 2005 to install 2008 R2 to make new version of Actix work

Attaching the screenshots of the SQL Error and I am unable to attach the WMIDiag.vbs report

Your help is really appreciated

Thank you,
